Our Programs

The Bread Shed partners with the SEMO Food Bank to provide monthly mobile food pantry distributions in Butler, Ripley, and Carter Counties. The Butler County distribution operates on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Poplar Bluff. The Ripley County distribution operates on the 3rd Saturday of each month in Doniphan. The Carter County distribution operates on the 1st Saturday of each month in Ellsinore. At each of the sites, a free breakfast is provided by a local church. Clothing donated by the local communities is also given away each Saturday.

Donate Clothing

Bring gently used or new, clean clothing and linens to First Church of God 3482 S Westwood Blvd in Poplar Bluff. Clothes will be given away at each Saturday distribution.

Volunteers Needed

Individuals and groups needed for Saturday food/clothing distributions in Poplar Bluff, Doniphan, & Ellsinore. Volunteers will help greet our neighbors and work on the food distribution line.

A free, restaurant-style hot meal is served every Sunday from 11:30 am-1:00 pm at the Bread Shed in Poplar Bluff. This meal is for the entire community. Everyone is welcome!

This is our most urgent volunteer need! We are looking for host groups or churches to help on Sundays with our community meal, “Breaking Bread.” We supply the food; you prepare and serve. We average 150 people each Sunday. We need groups to serve once a month, once a quarter, or once a year. Contact Chris Kellums at (573) 712-6597 if you can serve.

Diaper Distribution is the 2nd Thursday of every month at The Bread Shed from 9am-10:30am

ABC (A Better Childhood), a program for feeding hungry families throughout the year including fresh produce, bakery items, and eggs is available on Wednesdays at BreadShed from 12:30-2:00pm. Please support this ministry with your generous donation at breadshed.org.

Volunteers for Food Distribution

Individuals and groups are needed for our ABC “A Better Childhood” food distributions for children and families within Poplar Bluff Schools. Contact the Bread Shed for more information.

New! Mobile shower is available on Sundays at Bread Shed from 9am to 1 pm for our neighbors in need. Hygiene products, soap, undergarments, and towels are provided.
